Sandy toes…salty kisses…
This was not only the moto on Marjon & Sander’s invitation but also the overall mood of their wedding day.
Being in the Netherlands and searching for the ideal location that would leave them speechless and be more of their style, they found Pelion. Actually, Pelion found them. Magnificent greenery, out of the ordinary bays and less tourists than any other place in Greece was what really won their hearts. And then, during their visit in May to arrange all the details of the big day, we met an emotional, in love couple.
Time passed by extremely quickly and September arrived. September 9th…
Driving from Volos to Tsagarada in the morning, an awkward fog appeared out of the blue and the clouds in the sky could only tell that a storm was about to burst. However, Marjon and Sander were getting ready at their hotel absolutely calm and relaxed although it would rain. Sander arrived at Mylopotamos Beach eagerly waiting for Marjon to come. We still remember him bursting into tears when he finally laid his eyes on Marjon walking down the quaint path. His emotions drowned him, not letting him even breathe. No one could. Not even us… To be honest, it was the first time we cried at a wedding. He took her in his arms and it seemed forever as if he didn’t intend to let her go.
And the hard part was about to begin! To reach the famous cave where the ceremony would take place, you have to walk through an arch, a hole in the huge rock, that the salty waves have created over the years. The problem was that huge waves of two meters high wouldn’t let us pass through because of the bad weather. After timing the waves we finally did it! Everyone was running keeping their clothes in their hands. Well, some of us didn’t really manage to keep our pants dry, though…
And the ceremony took place into this magical cave. Just Marjon, Sander and their families. So many emotions and tears especially during their vows. What really amazed us is that after their short visit during May, they grabbed some sand from this specific cave and took it back with them to the Netherlands to put it inside their wedding rings. Even Marjon’s bouquet was made of seashells.
Leaving Mylopotamos beach we headed to a beautiful tavern just above the cave with the amazing sea view of the Aegean for the family lunch. Altogether sitting around the table we had lunch with the couple and their family. They really made us feel part of them. After enjoying everyone’s company, we left with Marjon and Sander for a couple photoshoot around some picturesque locations in Pelion. We hope these photos will remind them the great moments of that day.
Driving back to Volos, after experiencing this wedding day, we couldn’t describe it with just one word. Love, warmth, family, simplicity, lots of emotions. We could keep writing, but we’ll let you enjoy the images.
Finally, we would like to thank the amazing Brigitte not only for her professionalism planning a wedding but also for being a great company every time we work together.
P.S. Oh, and something more! Sandy toes, salty kisses and lens, wet pants!
Sander, the food is still divine in Pelion. Waiting for you next summer!
We really enjoyed working with X Studios (Mary & Kostantinos). They are very professional and extremely helpful. We needed some help far before our wedding. Help that was not even related to photography. They were always willing to help. At our wedding day they were well prepared and very funny. We’re not very good in photo shooting but they really made us feel at ease. There English is perfect and it was easy to communicate with them.
The quality of the images is amazing. The colors are very bright but real and natural. They truly made our wedding the best day of our lifes! We would definitely recommend working with X Studios!
